What Is One-way Memory Spring Or Two-way Memory Spring ?

One-way memory Nitinol Spring and two-way memory Nitinol spring are made of our special nitinol memory alloy, which has one-way or two-way shape memory function in performance. Among them, one-way memory spring and two-way memory spring are two types with relatively wide application. They are very different in production process and application field.

 

1. Difference in production process:

 

1.) Manufacturing method of one-way memory spring:

 

One-way memory spring is a functional material, which has a very special memory feature, that is, when it is heated, it will change to its original shape according to the predetermined shape. However, a one-way spring needs to be deformed by an external force when cooled. The methods for manufacturing one-way memory springs mainly adopt drawing method, extrusion method, cutting method, processing method and heat treatment.

 

Taking the drawing method as an example, the alloy material needs to be processed into wire first, and then drawn at a certain temperature to change the thickness and length of the wire. After repeated operations, a one-way memory spring can be made.

 

2.) Manufacturing method of two-way memory spring:

 

Two-way memory spring is a functional material with different shapes at two different temperatures. It will automatically reset when cooled without the assistance of bias force. Its manufacturing method is more complicated than that of one-way memory spring, mainly using forging and heat treatment.

 

First, the alloy material is processed into the original shape, and then subjected to solid solution heat treatment and cooling, so that it is transformed into the first shape. Then it is heated again to make it have shape memory, at which time it will return to its original shape or another shape. After completing this process, the manufacturing of two-way memory alloy is completed.

2. Differences in application fields:

 

1.) Application fields of one-way memory spring:

 

One-way memory spring is widely used and can be used in many fields such as medical equipment, automotive parts, instruments and meters, consumer products, etc. For example, in the medical field, one-way memory alloy can be used for special surgical blades and medical catheters, which can help doctors make more precise incisions or reverse the shape of deformed organ blood vessels; in the field of automotive parts, one-way memory alloy can be used to manufacture brake pads, engine handles and throttles and other parts, which can greatly improve the durability of automotive parts.

 

2.) Application fields of two-way memory springs:

 

The application fields of two-way memory springs are mainly concentrated in high-tech, military and aviation fields. For example, in the high-tech field, two-way memory alloys can be used to manufacture various robots, smart homes and smart devices to achieve human-computer interaction; in the military field, two-way memory alloys can be used to manufacture high-precision shooting equipment and high-tech weapons, thereby improving the combat efficiency of the army; in the aviation field, two-way memory alloys can be used to manufacture various sensors, actuators and control devices in aircraft aviation systems, thereby improving the safety of aircraft.
