Green head tungsten electrodes is an electrode material made of tungsten. Its green tip is made of oxide material, which helps the welder to more easily insert the electrode correctly into the TIG welding torch. Tungsten is a very hard and high melting point metal, so it is very suitable as a TIG welding electrode material. Tungsten electrodes are commonly used to weld materials such as stainless steel, nickel alloys, titanium, and aluminum to provide a more stable and consistent welding arc.
Tungsten electrodes are key components used in argon arc welding and inert gas welding (TIG). Since tungsten has a high melting point, high thermal stability, and excellent electrical conductivity, it is an ideal material for applications under high temperatures, high pressure, and high current conditions.
The materials it usually uses are pure tungsten and tungsten alloy. Pure tungsten electrodes are suitable for welding thin metal, stainless steel and aluminum, etc., with lower melting rates and narrower welds. Tungsten alloy electrodes are more durable in use, have better corrosion resistance, and can be applied to higher current conditions, but are also more prone to ablation.
Tungsten Electrodes can be in different shapes including passivated electrodes, pointed electrodes, angled electrodes, and beveled electrodes. Choosing the correct shape depends on the desired welding goals, welding materials, and current conditions.

2. Processing the green head tungsten electrode can be carried out according to the following steps
1) Preparation materials: Prepare tungsten rod, grinding wheel, and water.
2) Tungsten Rod Cutting: Use a cutter to cut the tungsten rod to the proper length.
3) Tungsten Rod Grinding: Grind both ends of the tungsten rod with a grinding wheel to make it tapered.
4) Processing of unconventional shapes: If necessary, equipment such as electrode-cutting machines can be used for cutting unconventional shapes.
5) Plating: Put the tungsten rod into the coating equipment for special coating treatment of the greenhead tungsten electrode.
6) Plating Removal: Use a grinding wheel and water to remove the plating from the tungsten rod.
7) Final Grinding: Use a grinding wheel for final grinding to make the electrode tip smooth and burr-free.
8) Completion: Pack the processed tungsten electrode with a green tip, which can be used in TIG, GTAW, and other welding applications.

4. Green head tungsten electrodes application

Green Head Tungsten Electrodes are suitable for DC welding and AC welding, usually used for tungsten inert gas shielded welding (TIG welding) or plasma arc cutting. This tungsten electrode is characterized by its better current conduction properties and longer life because they have undergone a series of treatments and alloying.
Green-tipped tungsten electrodes are composed of high-purity tungsten and other alloying elements such as cobalt, chromium, zirconium, and titanium. These elements can improve the oxidation resistance and wear resistance of tungsten, as well as enhance its electrical conductivity and stability. This makes the green tungsten electrode more suitable than other tungsten electrodes for welding high-temperature, high-strength, and high-precision metal materials, such as steel, copper, aluminum, and titanium.
In a word, the green tungsten electrode has better performance and life, can improve welding quality and efficiency, and is widely used in aviation, aerospace, electronics, automobiles, medical equipment and precision machinery, and other fields.
